Storm Mountain Ranch
Steamboat Springs, Colorad

A long-time Steamboat Springs resident and former Olympic skier purchased this

1,100-acre ranch at the southern edge of Steamboat Springs, one of Colorado's most beautiful natural areas. The owner brought together a land planner, a graphic designer, and an architect to work with wildlife biologist and equestrian experts to develop a rustic luxury community.

The ranch is divided into 14 sites, all remote from one another but sharing access to the property's equestrian and fishing facilities. Guest quarters were

designed on the land to keep the homes' sizes smaller. In total the project included a complete masterplan of this site, design of the Awapa Lodge (the main fishing lodge on the artificial lake) four lakeside cabins, and the Hideout Cabin (the up-canyon escape, off-the-grid cabin). The equestrian barn and the stone and log entry gate to this private 'National Park' were also designed to embody the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains.
